Re: The BIGGEST FOOTBALL thread
S'funny, but High_Roller seems to have disappeared. Strange. After all, he found his way on here without trouble after United's Carling Cup first leg.

Re: The BIGGEST FOOTBALL thread
He'll be back soon imo. After Arsenal's next 2 games, they've got a very easy run-in, and no fa cup interference either.

Re: The BIGGEST FOOTBALL thread
Don't know how you can like that as a L'pool fan. I'd be crying seeing my rivals do so well and in such an entertaining way.

JT axed as England captain, LMAO. Have that you horrible bastard. You know he's going to be sitting in his car crying til his heart's content.
Hopefully Rio should get it now.

Re: The BIGGEST FOOTBALL thread
Rio shouldn't be England captain. Lampard should be.
Oh, re: our earlier chat about Anderson - he wasn't in the squad for the Arsenal game. He was sent to the reserves. Perhaps there is something in him reverting to being a prat of late.

Re: The BIGGEST FOOTBALL thread
Rio would be an excellent captain. He seems to be very well respected by United and England teammates. He seems to rise from the responsibilty too. Though, in this day and age, captaincy doesn't really mean much.
Don't know about Anderson, no one does. Seems that only the 'Daily Mail Sports Reporter' knows something.

Re: The BIGGEST FOOTBALL thread
If you're going to strip one man of the captaincy because of his behaviour off the field then how can you give it to another who shows next to no respect for referees whilst on it? In all honesty, I don't even understand why the captaincy is so important in football.
In cricket it's slightly different, there's a real marshalling of the troops, organisation, plans of attack. It's tactical captaincy. I don't see that in a footballing captain.

Re: The BIGGEST FOOTBALL thread
Iniesta doing a Cruijff turn past two of the opposition to walk the ball away from the edge of his own area was better.

Are you for real?! They've replaced one prat with another. Rio's off the field antics are no better.

I agree!!!
Stevie G should be captain, doesn't like getting into punch ups or anything of that nature.

Re: The BIGGEST FOOTBALL thread
Would love to see High Roller's face when Fabregas leaves the team with a 70% chance of winning the league. £40-50m for him is no thing for Barca these days Oo
This is frightening though:
Keita
Xavi Fabregas
Messi ....... Iniesta
Ibra
Try getting the ball back from that lot :\

Re: The BIGGEST FOOTBALL thread
Whisper it quietly, but Arsenal's lack of competitiveness is Wenger's fault. His recent comment about rather finishing second than winning the Carling Cup sums up their problems. In contrast, read back to Ferguson's comments about winning the Carling Cup back in the season when that was the only competition we won and people were taking the mickey out of ''how far United had fallen''.

Re: The BIGGEST FOOTBALL thread
Ref was a joke today. United did well considering. Villa becoming a bit of a bogey team for us.
If Liverpool finish in the Champions League positions this season then Manchester City, Villa and Spurs ought to be ashamed of themselves. Spurs, especially, have been a bloody shambles for a while now. Good ol' 'Arry, eh. Also, if Manchester City don't get a Champions League place where does that leave Mancini? After all, any mug knows they sacked Hughes 'cause they didn't think he'd get them into the promised land.

Re: The BIGGEST FOOTBALL thread
Would love to see Superstars face if Arsenal win the title after having lost to all 2nd and 3rd places teams, both, home and away. Not even drawing.
...and given the current scenario that could quite easily be the case, I'm not saying it will be, I'm just saying it could be....
Take a look......
Chelsea 58
Man Utd 57
Arsenal 52
Arsenal's remaining 12 fixtures:
Sunderland H
Stoke A
Burnley H
Hull A
West Ham H
Birmingham A
Wolves H
Spurs A
Wigan A
Man City H
Blackburn A
Fulham H
If we win the games in bold, you've got to say its a realistic probability. Aside from Sunderland our losses this season have been against the big teams. They're all finished with.
Man City at the Emirates and Spurs away are the only games left that we aern't massive favourites for.
Now lets take a glance @ Chelsea, they've dropped 20 points in 26 games so far so its not that unlikely that they will drop 9 more points in their next 12 games. I would be surprised if they didn't tbh, especially when you consider the teams they've got. Tottenham, City, United, and Liverpool.
Man Utd have both Chelsea and Liverpool themselves.
We might just UNDESERVEDLY snatch this title.
I'd like to see you impartially anaylse against the chances of this scenario Mr Hommes!
